Students from Bishop Kearney H.S., Bensonhurst, held a fundraiser to benefit Sean Casey’s Animal Rescue. Two of the school’s clubs, God’s Earth and Creatures and the Stage Crew, sold warm pretzels in the cafeteria. After the fundraiser, Sean Casey, along with John Biagi and Hillard Williams, visited the members of the clubs and brought with them some of the animals that they had rescued. Biagi introduced the girls to Joe, a mastiff that he had found on the street. With patience and love, Biagi turned this dog into one that now calmly looked for affection from the girls. Casey also introduced the girls to two tiny Pomeranians, a 25-foot snake and a rather large turtle, which represented only a small part of the variety of animals abandoned in Brooklyn every day. The girls were happy to be able to give Sean a check for $300 to help with some of his expenses.
