Father Johnson Nedungadan, C.M., will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving to mark his 25th year as a priest on Sept. 25 at St. Gregory the Great Church, Bellerose.
Born in Kerala, India, he was ordained Dec. 30, 1991 for the South Indian Province of the Vincentian Fathers.
He served in various states in India and then as a missionary in Tanzania, East Africa, where he spent six years as a pastor and a dean.
He also served as the superior and rector of both the minor and major seminaries of the South Indian Province of the Vincentians.
For the past nine years, he has been a parochial vicar at St. Gregory the Great, Bellerose.
Father Nedungadan holds master’s degrees in both theology and education.
He also has an advanced certificate in education from St. John’s University, Jamaica.
He has completed four units of clinical pastoral education from Queens Hospital Center and is a board-certified chaplain.
