Letters to the Editor

Bright Christmas Thanks

Dear Editor: Greetings from Trinity Human Service Corporation (THSC)!

On behalf of our Executive Director, Father Pedro De Oliveira, O.F.M. Conv., and the staff and volunteers at THSC, I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the Bright Christmas Campaign grant.

Your grant helped us provide Christmas gifts for many children in our neighborhood. You have helped us for many years in enhancing our children’s experience of a brighter and more joyful Christmas at Most Holy Trinity-St. Mary’s Church. This year we served over 400 children at our Christmas party. We hope that this time begins a grace-filled new year for them.

Thank you again for your generous contribution for our Christmas event. We would not be able to do our ministry without wonderful people like you.

May God bless you abundantly with a Healthy, Happy and Holy Christmas and Happy New Year.

SISTER WOOHEE SOFIA LEE, S.F.M.A.

Dear Editor: On behalf of St. John’s Bread and Life, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for the donation that The Tablet’s Bright Christmas campaign recently sent to us for our Sponsor-a-Family program. This gift will be used to bring the joy of Christmas to individuals and families in need. Now they will get to celebrate the holiday season with a traditional Christmas meal at home and brand new toys for their smiling children.

Your generous financial support and that of hundreds of other caring donors will help the Sponsor-a-Family program lift the spirits of over 5,000 children and 2,000 local families ass the share in the magic of Christmas. We thank you for your support and wish you and your readers a blessed Christmas.

Dear Editor: We received the Bright Christmas check and we are very grateful for the gift! We were able to put on a beautiful pageant and offer a delicious dinner for the families. The turn out was fantastic and the acting was even better! Thank you for spreading the Christmas spirit.

Dear Editor: Over 1,000 children received their toys along with meeting Santa, watched a 22-character parade, enjoyed a magic show, played all types of arcade games, face painting, coloring, refreshments and much more.

What we heard the most that day from our guests was “events like this don’t happen here.” It was Christmas for sure for the children!

We are so grateful to all that made this possible. The event was conducted by 65 volunteers, some of whom were from the DeSales Media Group. The two-day event that was monetarily sponsored by The Tablet’s Bright Christmas campaign and the Transit Managerial Benevolent Association.

Once again we thank all who helped to make this Christmas event possible for the children.

We wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
