Prayers for Haiti

Dear Editor: Thank you Pope Leo for speaking out so loudly about peace.

We Haitians really need peace in our country.

We love you and are praying for your ministry.

Grateful for NET-TV’s Currents News

Dear Editor: I want to share with all the people who read The Tablet that they should absolutely tune in to NET-TV at 7:30 a.m. for Currents News with Christine Persichette and many other talented reporters, including Katie Vasquez.

I hope many others look forward to this program each morning.

The information Currents News provides is unbelievable.

I felt like I was in Rome watching their coverage of Pope Francis’ funeral and the election of our dear Pope Leo XIV.

I could go on forever about this wonderful show, but I will end by just saying thank you for this gift and thank you, Christine, for being so gracious when we met.

Editor’s note: Currents News airs on weeknights at 7 p.m. with replays at 10:00 p.m., midnight, and 7:30 a.m. the next morning on NET-TV.

Grounded by Daily Mass

Dear Editor: The article by Andre Escaleira in the May 2 issue of The Tablet (“What One Month of Daily Mass Taught Me”) really hit home.

I often question why bad things happen to good people.

Since I’ve retired from teaching, I’ve been able to attend daily Mass, if not in person then live-streamed.

While listening to Scripture and profound homilies, I’ve learned that life is not easy and we were never promised happiness, but we are in pursuit of peace through Jesus.

Daily Mass grounds me for whatever the day has in store.

A simple smile or a friendly gesture toward someone may be very uplifting and can often change their mood from anxious to well-being.

It’s not easy but worth the journey.
