Vocations In Focus

“Would you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will you go where you don’t know and never be the same?” If that hymn speaks to your heart, perhaps God is calling you to be a priest, a religious sister or brother.

Although National Vocation Awareness Week comes to a close this Saturday, Jan. 19, vocation awareness is ongoing in the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens. Here are a sampling of events for all ages coming up in the next few weeks, courtesy of the diocesan Vocations Office:

Cathedral Seminary Formation House, Douglaston — Faith Through Action, monthly youth and young adult gathering, Jan. 25, 7:30-10:30 p.m. Guest speaker: Father Daniel Champoli. Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston — World Day for Consecrated Life Celebration, Feb. 9, 1:30-6 p.m. Celebrate and reflect on the gift of women and men religious and all in consecrated life to the life and mission of the Brooklyn Diocese, especially following Vatican II. Keynote speaker: Sister Mary Hughes, O.P. Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio will celebrate 5 p.m. Mass. R.S.V.P. by Jan. 30.
