Dear Editor: I would like to praise Curtis Sliwa and the Guardian Angels for stepping up patrols in Jewish neighborhoods because of anti-Semitic crimes in these areas and especially in Brooklyn (“New York’s Guardian Angels Bolster Presence in Jewish Neighborhoods,” Jan. 25).
Our Jewish men and women are our brothers and sisters, even though many of us are of different faiths. You see, our creator made us all equal and created all of us to love one another.
I believe Curtis Sliwa knows that only too well. I met Curtis Sliwa in the late 1990s when he joined the community of Little Neck in a protest to close a sex shop store because it was too close to a number of schools in the area. I found Curtis to be a honest man dedicated to moral values. I thanked him for being there that day and for being willing to join us in this important protest.
Finally, let me say to Curtis Sliwa and the Guardian Angels, bravo for helping to fight hate in our communities!
