Dear Editor: Is The Tablet a Catholic diocesan Newspaper or an official organ of the Republican Party?
In the Aug. 17 issue, we were treated to a headline about a candidate for Congress who plans to run against Democratic Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (“Catholic Teacher Aims for AOC”). In today’s world, the choice of wording, especially regarding the frequently-threatened Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, is atrocious.
The election is a year-and-a-half away. Are you going to run a piece describing Ocasio-Cortez’ impact in standing up to a president who everyday violates Catholic teaching on immigration? Or are we simply going to get more articles on the cheerleaders for the president?

Editor’s note: The Tablet is a Catholic newspaper. There is abundant evidence in our weekly coverage that we cover both parties fairly and objectively. Our news group reached out to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez to get her input for this article but we didn’t get an answer.
