Dear Editor: My father, Joseph Quinlivan, received his high school diploma on Father’s Day of this year. At 93 he is a proud World War II Veteran who left school to serve his country. While others were going to proms, my dad and countless others were serving overseas to help bring peace to a broken world during World War II. Our country and state recognized his service and experience and issued him a valid NYS High School diploma. He was so proud to receive it! Joseph Quinlivan has been a parishioner of St. Edmund’s Parish in Brooklyn since he married there in 1955.  God bless my dad and all who served and are serving. These are the people who truly make America great!
