Dear Editor: George Weigel has been unfairly maligned because of his sharp, insightful, informed, honest and brave appraisal of the goings-on among the Vatican and U.S. bishops.

My opinion is that current political leaders who share similar values find themselves at the mercy of a merciless media. It would be interesting to hear why some devoted religious and big media bristle at the findings of Weigel.
