Annunciation Celebrates Mary and Jesus

My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord, This week, we celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation. It is both a Marian Feast and a Feast of Jesus Christ because it is on this day that Mary virginally conceived the Lord Jesus. This feast has always been celebrated as a feast of both Christ and Mary. In fact, in the past it carried the name of the Annunciation of Christ or the Conception of Christ.

Sister M. Rosela McFadden, I.H.M., of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died March 19 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton, Pa. She was 92.

Father Guy Morgan, O.F.M.

Father Guy Morgan, O.F.M., 90, a professed Franciscan friar for 67 years and a priest for 62, died March 10 at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital, Fla.

Sister Therese Mary Waughon, B.V.M.

Sister Therese Mary Waughon, B.V.M. (John Francine), 86, a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary for 68 years, died March 15, at Mount Carmel, Dubuque, Iowa. Burial is in the Mount Carmel cemetery.

Sister Margaret Beaudette, S.C.

Sister Margaret Beaudette, S.C., (Sister Marie Gerard), a member of the Sisters of Charity of New York for 69 years, died March 12 at Mount St. Vincent Convent. She was 89.
