Our Youth

Web Exclusive: Jornada Service and Fellowship Day

Youth from the Jornadas de Vida Cristiana movement, a program of spiritual renewal for the young Hispanic community, spent their weekend immersed in service.

Different youth groups visited a variety of service sites including parts of Far Rockaway to help build houses for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Some teens handed out food to the homeless, while others helped with tasks at their home parish, Transfiguration Church, Williamsburg.

Later in the afternoon, the Jornadas gathered together for fellowship and discussions.

The Jornadas de Vida Cristiana youth movement was founded more than 45 years ago through the inspiration of Vincentian Fathers from Spain. Its New York chapter is under the care of the Diocese of Brooklyn.
