St. Adalbert, Elmhurst, hosted the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Cancer Awareness Games Oct. 11-12.

Dubbed “Play for a Cure,” the games featured 30 teams from 12 CYO divisions, and all proceeds will be donated to the Coaches vs. Cancer Foundation.

On Nov. 21, Barclays Center in Downtown Brooklyn will host the annual Coaches vs. Cancer college basketball tournament, and several CYO teams have been chosen to play on the professional court.

St. Adalbert would also like to extend a special thank you to its eighth-grade girls’ hoops team, which raised over $300 through a bake sale to support the cause.
