Letters to the Editor

Upholding the Constitution

Dear Editor: I agree with the letter (“The Views of Youth,” April 9) that praises the child that reminds us that we need to be respectful of other religions.

But let’s be clear. When Ben Carson was asked if a Muslim could be president, the answer is a definite, maybe.

The president swears to uphold the Constitution.

If a Muslim candidate says that Sharia Law, which is a direct contradiction to our Constitution, is OK in any community that wants it… that person is unqualified to hold office in this country.

Personally, I would seriously consider voting for any conservative Muslim candidate that swears to uphold the U.S. Constitution.
