Thomas A. Clemente Sr., 93, died June 7 at his home in Latham, N.Y.
As CEO of Clarity Publishing Inc. in Albany, he printed The Tablet from 1963 to 1993.
A native of New York City, he attended Notre Dame University, where he played varsity baseball and graduated magna cum laude. He played four years of professional baseball with the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. During WWII, he was a Marine Corps navigator and bombardier, flying missions in a B-25 in the Pacific theater.
Founder and CEO of Clarity, he also was the publisher of several other Catholic newspapers in New York State.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville, N.Y. Interment was in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
