Students at St. Agnes Academic High School, College Point, are continuing their school’s tradition of gift giving and showing comitment to the Christian value of social justice.

Freshman students collected toys to donate to St. John’s Bread and Life Program in Bedford-Stuyvesant. The sophomores are raising money to donate to a family in need. St. Agnes juniors are contributing to the Hour Children program and the seniors are collecting and donating basic necessities for the poorest of the poor.

During a time when food pantries are running out of food, the student council of St. Edmund Prep. H.S., Homecrest, fullfilled its duty to feed the hungry by holding a canned food drive. The procedes were donated to the St. Edmund parish food pantry.

The student council also held a sock drive and collected over 700 new pairs of socks will be donated to Teens Helping Teens, sponsored by Covenant House. Both activities were under the direction of Student Council moderator and Campus Minister Sister Barbara Doyle, C.S.J.
