Just like we did after football season, here are The Tablet’s picks for the Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA boys high school basketball all-stars.

The CHSAA basketball season was full of excitement, and the following players deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments on the court.

Boys ‘AA’ First Team All-Stars

Omar Calhoun, Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village — Senior, Guard, 26.3 pts. per game (Led N.Y.C. CHSAA), 7.7 rebounds per game; scored at least 20 points in 21-of-24 games played; voted All-Class ‘AA’ MVP; passed former NBA player Khalid Reeves as Christ the King’s all-time leading scorer; will attend the University of Connecticut, Storrs, Conn.

Marquise Moore, Holy Cross H.S., Flushing — Senior, Guard/Forward; 13.9 points per game; high game: 26 points; named to Second Team All-CHSAA

Brian Bernardi, Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge — Senior, Guard, 18.2 points per game; 10 games with 20-plus points; named to First Team All-CHSAA

Lourdes Runs Away with Meet

CYO conducted the second of its three indoor track meets at St. Anthony’s H.S., South Huntington. The Ragazzo Relays saw 10 girls teams and 11 boys squads compete in relay events, as well as the feature race, the Ragazzo 1,000-meter event.

The day began with Mass in the chapel. Father Kevin Abels was assisted by CYO director Deacon Joe Catanello.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Queens Village, took first place in the Girls East division followed by St. Andrew Avellino and St. Kevin, both Flushing. St. Stanislaus, Maspeth, took the West division with St. Joan of Arc, Jackson Heights, second, and St. Clement Pope, Jamaica, third.

Our Lady of Lourdes also took first among boys in the East with St. Kevin, and St. Margaret, Middle Village, trailing closely behind. St. Clement Pope boys prevailed in the West nipping Corpus Christi, Woodside.

The winners of the Ragazzo 1000-meter run were Kieran Rock of St. Margaret in 3:16.2 and Caitlin Doran of St. Andrew in 3:39.1.
