Letters to the Editor

The Shame of Abortion

Dear Editor: In the Readers’ Forum (July 2-9) a letter by Frances Ruocco expressed my sentiments also. Thank you, Frances! I want to express my feelings on the same subject –abortion!

Each day, for the last 40 years, hundreds if not thousands of babies are killed every day.

Guns are not used. It is not the fault of the NRA. There are many instruments of death for mass killings. The abortionist’s tools are instruments of extreme torture and death. These tools are used by abortion doctors for this brutal procedure. When these doctors finish their work the baby’s body is treated with less respect than human or animal waste. They are often taken to a garbage dump and left to rot. In this entire country there is not a piece of land set aside for a mass grave to place these mutilated baby bodies. You cannot make this up!

No banks of flowers, no seven-day candles, no candlelight vigils, no weeping or mashing of teeth, no lamentations of ”How can this happen, where did these monster killers come from,” no gathering of the community in solidarity, no counseling, no religious service. Just the mantra, “My body, my right, my health care.”

Abortion is not health care. It is an assault on the most fragile organ of the female anatomy. Oh well, so much for the myth of motherhood!

Here in the U.S.A., it took just five people – five judges of the Supreme Court, held in the highest esteem, higher even than the Higher Power – to convert a nation to this perversion. Killing babies, A-OK! Selling their tiny body parts, A-OK. Babies don’t need any recognition of being.

Who could have dreamed such evil, so horrendous, no words. The country should tremble. Abortion is an atomic bomb!

Then, of course, there is social justice. Social justice in this case is paying Planned Parenthood $500,000,000 a year to continue these mass killings with accolades and compliments for their “good works.”

I don’t think the politicians pay the NRA anything. Guns kill so few people in comparison to Planned Parenthood. The NRA support for the Second Amendment does not qualify for a $500,000,000 political windfall.

There have been and still are many brave and dedicated people who have never given up fighting this atrocity. They have been crying out in the streets and have taken much abuse as a result. Lately, they have been asked not to obsess about abortion. Their protests, exposing horror, video proof, testimonies, documentation have resulted in their being threatened with charges, subpoenas, fines and trials and jail.

Polls show that the majority of Christian men and women approve of abortion and it is very low on their social concerns. Christian women, with or without agreement from males, avail themselves of abortion by a very large percentage point.

“Weep for yourselves,” He said.

How did this happen? Who will apologize to the tiny spirit babies who only were touched with cruel instruments and real hate.
