Dear Editor: I would like to give a reason for the media-fueled Russian collusion investigation that I have not seen before. It is my belief that this investigation is nothing more than a campaign strategy for the 2018 mid-term election. If, with the help of the mainstream media, the Democrats can keep this going for another year, they are hoping to convince enough voters to vote Democrat and they will gain control of Congress.
Let me explain why I believe this is true. Upon an impeachment of a President, the Senate acts as the jury in the impeachment process. A two-thirds vote (67) is needed to oust a President from office. With 52 Republicans and 48 Democrats in the Senate, 19 Republicans along with every Democrat would have to vote for ousting President Trump. That is simply an impossibility. Therefore the ousting of President Trump cannot happen. So why else do they continue to pursue this collusion nonsense. Exactly for the reason I stated above.
The Editor’s Space – “The Tone of the Political Debate Has Hit a New Low” (June 24 – was perfect and to the point.
