To celebrate the impact of Catholic journalism, The Tablet sponsored a special Mass for journalists on Saturday, Sept. 23. The Mass was celebrated at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph in Prospect Heights by Bishop Robert Brennan, and Bishop Emeritus Nicholas DiMarzio, Msgr. Sean Ogle, and Father Christopher Heanue concelebrated.
What began three years ago as The Tablet’s “COVID Relief Fundraiser for Catholic Schools” will be back in September, allowing all participating schools and their students in the Diocese of Brooklyn to directly benefit from the campaign by earning cash.
Barb Fraze, former international editor for Catholic News Service, won the 2023 St. Francis de Sales Award from the Catholic Media Association.
The Tablet won best weekly newspaper of the year among Catholic publications at this year’s Catholic Media Conference in Baltimore June 9, where the newspaper, along with Nuestra Voz, Currents News, and DeSales Media, took home 35 other awards for print, graphics, videos, and digital work from the past year.
