When Pope Francis visits Dubai in the United Arab Emirates Dec. 1-3 to address the opening of the U.N. Climate Change Conference, he will be the first pope ever to attend one of the global gatherings that began in 1995.

Pope to Address U.N. Climate Conference, Inaugurate ‘Faith Pavilion’
Pope Francis will travel to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates Dec. 1-3 to address the U.N. climate conference and to help inaugurate the Faith Pavilion where religious leaders and organizations will meet to share information and strategies for convincing governments to take real steps to protect the environment.
Pope to Visit United Arab Emirates in February
Pope Francis will visit the city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates Feb. 3-5 of next year to participate in the International Interfaith Meeting on “Human Fraternity.”
