St. Helen’s parish, Howard Beach, conducted a triduum in honor of St. Padre Pio. On the final evening, parishioners gathered for Mass, a procession and the chance to venerate a relic of the saint.
Now known as the “trail of tears,” nearly a thousand family members, friends and local residents gravely walked along Spring Creek Park, Howard Beach, for the Karina Vetrano memorial walk Aug. 16.
