Pro Vita Ceremony Honors Little Sisters, Calvary Staff

Co-Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the diocese’s annual Pro Vita Awards Mass honored two groups that care for the elderly and deal with end-of-life issues: the Little Sisters of the Poor and the staff at Calvary Hospital’s Brooklyn unit at NYU Lutheran Hospital, Sunset Park.

Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass and Celebration

The annual Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass and celebration will take place on Saturday, April 23, 11 a.m. at SS. Simon and Jude Church in Gravesend. Auxiliary Bishop Octavio Cisneros will be the main celebrant.

Brooklyn Pilgrims Visit Six Holy Doors

Shortly before sunrise on a recent Saturday, more than 150 people walked through the doors of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Flatlands, thus beginning their day-long pilgrimage to all six Holy Doors in Brooklyn and Queens.

Queens Parish Hosts Telecast of Papal Mass

Though thousands of miles away from Mexico City, Latin American faithful in Queens were able to follow the papal Mass live from the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe Feb. 13. Braving freezing cold temperatures, about 350 parishioners gathered at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish, Jamaica, to watch the Mass broadcast through NET-TV.
