Youth Day Pilgrims Continue To Pray Together at Holy Hour

What initially was a Friday evening Holy Hour aimed at reuniting pilgrims who attended World Youth Day in Kraków this past summer, became a night that brought together a variety of people from around the diocese. Pilgrims and non-pilgrims alike gathered at the Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston, for an hour in solemn prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Schools Honored for Donations to Worldwide Missions

Children from Catholic schools and religious education programs who either collected the most money or gave consistently throughout the years to benefit missions around the world joined St. James parishioners for their regularly scheduled Sunday morning Mass.

Feast Day in the Streets of Corona

On the eve of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s feast day, thousands of parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows celebrated with a street procession, a Mass in Spanish, cultural performances and countless flowers. Mass was held outdoors because the Corona church has been closed since Jan. 4 when an early morning fire caused extensive damage.

Local Schools Honored For Donations to The Missions

St. Bernadette’s School in Dyker Heights and St. Sebastian’s School in Woodside were among the schools honored on Mission Sunday at a Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Raymond Chappetto at St. James Cathedral-Basilica, Downtown Brooklyn.
