Polish-born Father Grzegorz Stasiak, parochial vicar and assistant pastor at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Forest Hills, was honored by New York City Comptroller, Scott Stringer, and the local Polish community honored at a Polish Heritage Breakfast Oct. 12. The event was held at the Polish & Slavic Center in Greenpoint.

Our Lady of Mercy Church in Forest Hills hosted its first of two Summer Sings in Queens featuring Mozart’s Requiem on Aug. 16. The Forest Hills Choir, in conjunction with the Queens Oratorio Society and Schola Sine Nomine, sponsored the event. The fifth annual Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) Hall of Fame ceremony recognized 10 deserving individuals who dedicated their lives to youth sports in the Diocese of Brooklyn.
The Sunday Mass at noon is now the Family Mass. Before the readings, the presiding priest holds up the Children’s Lectionary and presents it to Hippeli, who then invites the children to join her and Martin in the parish hall.
