When Father Dominick Dellaporte, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Church, asked parishioner Lindsay Papalardo to lead a new ministry, she jumped at the chance. The result is a prayer ministry called Daughters of Our Lady of Sorrows, which meets to pray for the Blessed Mother’s intercession to help resolve issues in their lives.
Each Friday during Lent, Father Dominick Dellaporte, the pastor of Our Lady of Grace, and a handful of parishioners spend time praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet aloud while standing on the sidewalk in front of a public place.
Deacon Nnamdi Eusebius Eze has worked as a mechanic in Nigeria and also earned a degree in mechanical engineering. But his eyes are now fixed on pastoral duties as a newly ordained priest in the Diocese of Brooklyn. His ordination will be on June 3.

Our Lady of Grace Youth Group (OLG) in Howard Beach wrapped up its second year with a special presentation. The theme was “You are Worthy” based upon Chapter 5 in the Book of Revelations. Giving the main talk was Youth Minister Sister Heidi Delgadillo, P.C.M. from St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Joseph Campisi, 86, was celebrated Oct. 27 at Our Lady of Grace Church, Howard Beach. He died Oct. 23 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens.
