Around the Church Bells: Blessed, Broken and Given

Young people were able to encounter the church in a big way as they prayed with nearly 20,000 teens from more than 100 dioceses at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC). The Diocese of Brooklyn brought teens from St. Thomas Aquinas, Flatlands; St. Sebastian’s, Woodside; St. Dominic’s, Bensonhurst, and St. Mark’s, Sheepshead Bay.

NCYC Reassures Faith in Youth

The Diocese of Brooklyn participated in the 2017 National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) in Indianapolis, Ind. The conference is organized and sponsored by the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry. Throughout the course of the three-day event, over 20,000 young people and adult leaders took part in liturgies, mega session, small-sharing groups and fellowship.

Youth Learn Not Just Who, But Whose They Are at NCYC

The sound of more than 20,000 teens screaming and singing along with raucous music of Christian hip-hop band TobyMac was loud. The sound of the same number of youths in silent prayer was deafening.
