Diocese of Brooklyn priest Msgr. Kieran Harrington has resigned from his post as the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States after an allegation against him of “inappropriate conduct with an adult” was substantiated, the Diocese of Brooklyn announced.
During the pandemic, the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph became the base for live-streaming Masses in multiple languages. A state-of-the-art broadcast studio was part of renovations following Pope Benedict XVI’s designating the co-cathedral title in 2013.
Msgr. Kieran Harrington of the Diocese of Brooklyn has been named the new national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, prefect of the Vatican Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples made the appointment. Msgr. Harrington will succeed Father Andrew Small, OMI, who is completing his second five-year term.
