Dozens of faithful attended a Mass for Peace and Justice at St. Josaphat Church, Bayside, on Jan. 22. The Mass was offered in reparation for the nearly 56 million babies aborted in the United States since the Supreme Court legalized abortion on Jan. 22, 1973. The Mass was one of many chances for the faithful of Brooklyn and Queens to pray for the unborn and the pro-life cause on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

baby in a manger is proof enough for Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan of New York that Americans can express a culture of life. And it wasn’t the Christ child. Instead, it was a newborn infant left by his mother in the crib of a manger scene at a parish in Queens.
The day before the Jonas storm dumped 26.8 inches of snow on New York City, tens of thousands descended upon Washington, D.C., as they have since the Supreme Court’s terrible Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. They were there to witness to the world, to the president and all lawmakers, of the value of human life, from conception to natural death.
The New York Times reported that “hundreds” of people showed up for the annual March for Life on Jan. 22 in the nation’s capital. The Washington Post was a little more generous by saying that “thousands” were there. The event’s organizers and participants estimated that there were actually about 50,000 brave souls who were present, despite the threat of one of the East Coast’s largest snowstorms ever, to demonstrate against the atrocity of abortion.
