My dear brothers and sisters in the Lord,
Each year, the Pro-Life movement comes together for the March for Life in Washington, D.C. This year, it was scheduled for Friday, Jan. 19. This annual event provides an opportunity for us to gather in our Nation’s capital and march down Constitution Avenue, ending at the Supreme Court, where the decision to make abortion legal in the United States has set a damaging path, reducing human life to a choice. It is unfortunate that there is a fundamental misunderstanding of the beginning of human life, its innate dignity and the possibility of terminating life.
March for Life President Uses ‘Big Tent’ Approach
Since becoming president of the March for Life, Jeanne Mancini, has expanded its Catholic base to promote inclusion and greater participation from pro-life advocates of all faiths, especially evangelicals.

The Diocese of Brooklyn is sending buses to the 2018 March for Life in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Jan. 19. Individual parishes are also sponsoring buses.

Dear Editor: In your column, you implied that participants in the Jan. 21 Women’s March had smashed windows and set cars on fire. In fact, an estimated four million people participated in more than 400 marches nationwide with zero acts of violence. The events you reference occurred on Inauguration Day.

As I watched the March for Life live on television, I was amazed at the amount of coverage in the social media. The Twitter world was abuzz with what was going in Washington D.C., Facebook was flush with photos, and Instagram showed the action as it was unfolding.
