Futures in Education, an organization that provides tuition assistance to help families pay for Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens, raised $2.4 million at its annual fundraising dinner at Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan on Oct. 22.
That astonishing number elicits a great sense of pride from all who have been involved in Futures in Education over the last 30 years – donors, board members, staff, pastors, principals and students. It’s so significant to us all because we believe so strongly in the mission of Catholic education and in the mantra of Futures: Changing Lives through the Gift of Education.
Our annual golf outing – A Round for the Kids – offers the opportunity for a great round of golf on a championship course and the chance to help disadvantaged students in Brooklyn and Queens get a Catholic education.
As an early Christmas present to its major benefactors, the Catholic Foundation of Brooklyn and Queens and Futures in Education of the Diocese of Brooklyn invited these supporters to a Christmas Concert at Annunciation Church in Williamsburg, Dec. 10. Special guests included Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio and retired Auxiliary Bishop Guy Sansaricq.
The Annual Futures in Education Scholarship dinner held at the Cipriani Wall Street Oct. 16 raised $2 million. The money will help more than 1,500 students in 86 schools and academies throughout Brooklyn and Queens receive a Catholic education. For 28 years, Futures has supported families through partial need-based scholarships.
“Being an ‘Angel’ is the best job in the world,” Marie Maggi said at the Brooklyn Diocese’s Futures in Education’s annual Angel Reception held at the New York Hall of Science, Thursday, April 19.
Futures in Education of the Diocese of Brooklyn presents its annual the Spirit of Christmas Spectacular on Monday, Dec. 18, 8 p.m. at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts’ David Geffen Hall. The concert benefits Catholic academies and schools in the diocese.
