Anthony Iapoce, the hitting coach of the Texas Rangers, will be hosting the inaugural New York Baseball Coaches Clinic on Dec. 10, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Division Avenue H.S., Levittown, L.I.

Reds’ Pitcher Played Hoops at St. John’s

Amir Garrett, who once played small forward for the St. John’s University, Jamaica, men’s basketball team, currently plays pro baseball as a starting pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.

The St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, men’s and women’s basketball teams recently wrapped up a trip north of the border to Canada. The Terriers met top Canadian teams in Ottawa and Montreal during the four-day visit, Aug. 26-29.
