The Catholic Youth Organization of Brooklyn and Queens hosted its annual girls’ volleyball diocesan championships May 13 at Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, and May 20 at St. Andrew Avellino, Flushing.
“Teens talk to teens differently,” said Paron. “That’s why high school journalism matters.You can talk to other young people and get a story that no one else can get. If you’re not talking to them, that means 26 percent of the population isn’t getting their voice heard and part of the tenet in journalism is to be a voice to the voiceless.”
Archbishop Molloy H.S., Jamaica, will celebrate the life of one of its late alumnae, Katrina Vetrano, with a vigil and relay walk/run event June 23-24.
