The Passionists of Immaculate Conception Monastery, Jamaica, recently received and blessed a statue of their founder, St. Paul of the Cross, which stands on the monastery grounds.
The statue was generously donated by the monastery’s Padre Pio Prayer Group and the parish of Holy Family in the Bahamas.

World War II Navy Veteran Howie Dunn, a longtime parishioner of St. Anselm’s Church in Bay Ridge has been named grand marshal of the 148th annual Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade in Bay Ridge on Monday, May 25.
Sponsored by the United Military Veterans of Kings County begins at 11 a.m. and runs along Third Avenue from 77th Street to John Paul Jones Park for a memorial service. Danny Rodriguez will make a guest appearance.
There will be several deputy grand marshals and the Kings County Catholic War Veterans will be the lead veterans organization. For more information, call 347-907-9547.

Start by attending the Flores de Mayo Celebration this Sunday, May 17 at Our Lady of the Snows, N. Floral Park. Arrive by 3:30 p.m. for the recitation of the rosary and then enjoy a street procession and Mass. For details, call 718-347-6070.

The Dillon Child Study Center at St. Joseph’s College, Clinton Hill, will host Sunfest, a family-friendly event for children and families on Saturday, May 30, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The event will be held rain or shine and will feature pony rides, a mini carousel, arts and crafts, face painting, games, music and other children’s activities. The cost is $20 per family.
