Purnell is wished well by Mary Kay Rail, director of human resources for DeSales Media.

This week’s Tip of the Tablet TALK Top Hat goes to Elizabeth Purnell, who retired from DeSales Media Group, parent company of The Tablet and NET-TV, on Feb. 26.

Purnell has been an esteemed member of the company for over 15 years, serving most recently at the reception desk. She considered her work “a ministry,” and approached every responsibility with the utmost love, following in the footsteps of St. Therese of Lisieux.

Purnell’s dedicated service and prayerful presence will be missed. Colleagues wished her well during a Mass and luncheon at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Prospect Heights.

As she starts this new chapter in life, Purnell plans to spend more time with her husband Harry, their sons and grandchildren. (Photo by Jorge Dominguez)
