Flushing Artists Paint for a Cause
It is a rare group of artists who employ art as a means to help others. One such group is the Oriental Brush Painting Class of St. Andrew Avellino Church, Flushing. The artists displayed their yearlong efforts during an Art Show and Brunch in the school cafeteria. Shown is a montage of the artists’ work surrounding a photo of the artists with their art teacher, Marita Mohr, standing fourth from right. The artists raised funds for the St. Vincent de Paul Society through the show and class dues. (Photo courtesy of Marita Mohr)
