A colorful procession of children and parents in native garb were part of the 17th annual Multicultural Sunday celebration at St. Andrew Avellino, Flushing. Festivities began with a Mass, during which the prayer of the faithful was said in seven languages. In his homily, Father Joseph T. Holcomb, pastor, noted how the universality of the Catholic Church was portrayed in the makeup of the parish. After Mass, parishioners enjoyed food, dancing and music representing various cultures and traditions. Photo © Frank Kirchoff
