With another competitive season of Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA baseball in the books, here’s a look at The Tablet’s 2015 All-Star team.

Infielders

Anthony Scotti, Xaverian H.S., Bay Ridge – Senior; Team Captain; .376 batting average, 26 RBI, seven doubles, four home runs, .564 slugging percentage, 14 stolen bases; selected to play in 2015 N.Y.C. Mayor’s Cup; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; 2014 Tablet All-Star; will attend Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J.

Xavier Vargas, Xaverian – Junior; .348 batting average, six doubles, two home runs, 22 RBI, .500 slugging percentage; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Jordan Santiago, St. Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows – Senior; Team Co-Captain; .500 batting average, 19 RBI, 12 doubles, two triples, .750 slugging percentage; selected to play in 2015 N.Y.C. Mayor’s Cup; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; will attend Adelphi University, Garden City, L.I.

Bobby Schmuck, Archbishop Molloy H.S., Briarwood – Junior; .351 batting average, led team in home runs; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Shawn Harrison, Holy Cross H.S., Flushing – Junior; .360 batting average, 28 hits, nine doubles, one home run, 17 RBI, 19 runs scored, .418 on-base percentage, .513 slugging percentage; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Quentin Holmes, Msgr. McClancy M.H.S., East Elmhurst – Sophomore; Team Captain; .350 batting average, four home runs, 17 stolen bases; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; 2014 Tablet All-Star

Kevin Linitz, Archbishop Molloy – Junior; .406 batting average, led team in hits and doubles; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Chris Armas, Archbishop Molloy – Junior; .389 batting average, led team in runs scored and stolen bases; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Nick Meola, Xaverian – Senior; .313 batting average, eight doubles, 26 RBI, four home runs, .521 slugging percentage; selected to play in 2015 N.Y.C. Mayor’s Cup; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; 2013 Tablet All-Star; will attend Queens College, Flushing

 

Catcher

Anthony Fanelli, Msgr. McClancy – Senior; threw out 75 percent of base-stealers; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Charlie Neuweiler, Msgr. McClancy – Sophomore; 9-1, 1.32 ERA, threw three shutouts and one no-hitter; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Tim Panetta, Christ the King R.H.S., Middle Village – Senior; 5-3, three saves, 1.73 ERA; named First Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA

Rolando Alvarez, Nazareth R.H.S., East Flatbush – Junior;
Team Captain; 8-1, 0.90 ERA, 85 strikeouts; named Team M.V.P.; 2014 Tablet All-Star

Andrew Santora, Msgr. McClancy – Senior; .320 batting average, three home runs; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; 2013 Tablet All-Star

Anthony Adamita, St. Edmund Prep, Sheepshead Bay – Senior; .310 batting average, 10 RBI, six doubles; was named St. Edmund Prep Athlete of the Year

Ronnie Gibbs, Bishop Loughlin M.H.S., Fort Greene – Sophomore; .314 batting average; 2014 Tablet All-Star Honorable Mention

Francis Abanilla, St. John’s Prep, Astoria – Senior; Team Captain; .315 batting average, 18 extra-base hits, led team in all offensive categories

Steve Catuogno, Xaverian – Senior; 6-1, 0.73 ERA, 28 innings pitched, 11 strikeouts

Matthew Treibel, St. Francis Prep – Senior; 4-3, 1.87 ERA; named Second Team All-Brooklyn/Queens CHSAA; will attend the New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury, L.I.

Edwin Mora, Bishop Loughlin – Junior; Team Captain; four wins, 27 innings pitched, 30 strikeouts, .330 batting average; 2014 Tablet All-Star

Sean McQuail, Cathedral Prep and Seminary, Elmhurst – Senior; 2.00 ERA, averaged seven strikeouts per game; .333 batting average; 2013 Tablet All-Star Honorable Mention; will attend SUNY Maritime, the Bronx
