Challenging Young Women to Reach Their Full Potential
St. Saviour High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory school for young women in Park Slope. Rooted in the tradition of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, students are challenged to achieve their full potential.
Measures of Success
One hundred percent of graduates attend college, and 74 percent of the Class of 2016 earned merit scholarships. Seventy percent of the senior class is enrolled in college-level courses.
St. Saviour offers an average class size of 16 students; an individualized honors program; 12 Advanced Placement (AP) courses in all disciplines; concurrent enrollment in college courses through St. John’s University and St. Joseph’s College; a minimum five-year foreign language study: Latin, French, Spanish; college-credit available in each language; four-year religious studies and a retreat program.
The Fine Arts program has advanced study options in music and studio art. An ensemble class is offered for students who have formal training in playing a musical instrument. Music production elective for seniors. Personal one-on-one art portfolio development.
The school has high-speed WiFi access, a BYOD program, Google Apps for Ed, Windows and Mac-based computer lab, programming and robotics. Technology initiatives include: digital citizenship, java programming, Arduino, game design concepts, Minecraft, 3D Design and Photoshop.
Two qualified counselors guide students in their academic, personal and college selection/ application process. There is an annual college fair and a college-prep program in junior and senior years.
Faith Formation, Clubs, Sports
St. Saviour also offers an active Campus Ministry program, a sacrament preparation program; individualized and small group tutoring, community service; competitive varsity and junior varsity sports; a wide range of clubs and activities; and faculty-chaperoned international travel.
Admission is based upon TACHS exam scores. Applications and academic records must be submitted by mid-December.
