Intelligent, Spiritual and Compassionate Education
With a tradition of excellence in education dating back to 1863, St. Patrick Catholic Academy is a Catholic elementary school located in Bay Ridge. St. Patrick educates girls and boys from age three to grade eight in a supportive community dedicated to the legacy of the Sisters of St. Dominic.
Facilities include a three-story building located on the landscaped grounds of St. Patrick Church, gymnasium, auditorium, library, science lab, art room, lunch room and classrooms equipped with SMART Boards. Early Bird drop off (from 7 a.m.) and an extended day program (ending at 6 p.m.) are available. Nursery has half- and full-day options, and a Literacy & Laughter Toddler Program is available.
St. Patrick encourages its students to achieve their personal best by providing a supportive environment that cultivates intellectual and spiritual growth. Students are critical thinkers and thoughtful critics; they respect one another and are compassionate. Christ is the unseen, but ever-present teacher in St. Patrick’s classrooms and is a source of inspiration. Students pray as a community each morning, study religion daily and attend church services regularly.
St. Patrick’s curriculum prepares students to reach their goals and meet the challenges of high school and beyond. In the Early Childhood Program, students explore, discover, imagine and learn in nurturing spaces with caring, experienced teachers. Kindergarten through eighth grade classes offer learning environments that build interdisciplinary skills in research, language arts, science, technology and mathematics.
Faculty members are dedicated to promoting intellectual rigor, imagination and curiosity. Parental involvement and communication is welcomed and encouraged. Visual arts, vocal performing arts, technology, modern languages and physical education programs are offered in all grades. Students further develop talents and interests through community service activities including the Junior St. Vincent DePaul Society, after-school enrichment such as theater arts, and academic competitions.
A high school guidance program is integrated into eighth grade. Graduates are accepted into outstanding Catholic, private and public high schools.
