Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello, Diocesan Vicar for Development, presents Msgr. Peter Kain, pastor of St. Ephrem, Dyker Heights, and members of the parish with a check for more than $29,000, representing the amount that St. Ephrem has gone over its assigned goal for the 2013 Annual Catholic Appeal. If all pledges are paid in full, the parish can receive another $19,000 in funds. The extra funds were used for some much-needed repairs to the rectory, grounds and air conditioning. From left, are Msgr.
