A Mass at St. Ephrem’s parish, Dyker Heights, on March 30, celebrated by Msgr. Peter Kain, pastor, closed out the parish’s 2013-2014 Catholic Youth Organization and BCBA basketball season.

Players from all 15 parish hoops teams wore their uniforms to Mass and processed in with Msgr. Kain.

Following breakfast, an in-house basketball tournament concluded the day, with each parish team participating.

Six games were played, and the players received trophies and enjoyed a pizza party after each game.

“The basketball program is very thankful to all our coaches for their time they put in with these great kids,” said Frank Stella, parish athletic representative at St. Ephrem’s. “It was a great season, and all the teams our players played against are all great kids and did a great job playing this season.”
