Just before the start of the season, juniors on the Xaverian H.S., Park Slope, boys’ varsity basketball team volunteered at the CHiPS (Christian Help in Park Slope) soup kitchen.
Mike Toro, the girls’ varsity basketball coach and athletic director at St. Joseph’s H.S., Downtown Brooklyn, was awarded the 2019 Rose Classic Girls Basketball Tournament Community Service Award.
