Quentin Holmes

Quentin Holmes, the senior center fielder on the Msgr. McClancy H.S., East Elmhurst, varsity baseball team, was named a first-team pre-season High School All-American by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. He is one of just two players from New York to earn the honor.

Holmes is a four-year varsity player committed to play college ball at Mississippi State University, Starkville, Miss. He is a team captain and a three-time Tablet All-Star. As a junior, Holmes batted .380 with four triples, 17 RBIs and five outfield assists. He was selected to the CHSAA All-League First Team.


Destiny Marino

Destiny Marino, a junior guard on the St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn, Clinton Hill, women’s basketball team, has garnered the Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team honors for the second straight season.

A graduate of Christ the King H.S. in Middle Village, Marino led the conference in scoring at 17 pts. per game. She scored in double figures in all but three games this season. On Jan. 4, Marino became the 10th Bear in program history to score 1,000 career pts. She is currently fifth on the Bears’ all-time scoring list.
