Did you know that St. Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes? The St. Sebastian, Woodside, Parish Center pool has reopened following an extended closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. All membership questions can be directed to info@QNSaquatics.com.


Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, recently inducted six new members into its Athletics Hall of Fame:

  • Carlo Acquista, ’96 (soccer)
  • Richard Duggan, ’62 (cross-country)
  • James Magee, ’71 (football)
  • Richard Schneider, ’64 (basketball)
  • Eamon Tubridy ’85 (basketball, inducted posthumously)
  • Glenn Xavier, ’91 (football/track and field)

The Catholic Youth Organization of Brooklyn and Queens recently wrapped up its fall soccer season with the following teams emerging as diocesan champions:
