Dean Marlowe, a former football standout at Holy Cross H.S., Flushing, signed a one-year contract to return the Buffalo Bills for the 2020 season. The 27-year-old free safety appeared in nine games for the Bills last season, recording 11 tackles and one pass defended.


The GCHSAA’s Hall of Fame ceremony, originally scheduled for April 2 at Russo’s at the Bay in Howard Beach, has been postponed until April 15, 2021. Next year is the 50th anniversary of the founding of the girls’ high school sports league.


St. Francis College is offering student-athletes a unique way to remain engaged amid the cancellation of the spring sports season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Students can sign up for online nutrition workshops hosted on the virtual meeting platform Zoom by the school’s head strength and conditioning coach Yuki Miyazawa.
