Sister Mary Stephanie Kelleher, M.S.B.T.

Sister Mary Stephanie Kelleher, M.S.B.T., a member of the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity for 76 years died Feb. 21 at the age of 102.

Born in Brooklyn, she took the religious name Sister Mary Stephanie of the Cross upon entering postulancy.

She served in Beloit, Wisc., and Auburn, N.Y., in her early years. From 1975 to 1977, she served in parish ministry in Newark, N.J.

She ministered at St. Mary’s, Woodside, 1977-90, where, among other activities, she initiated a multi-parish outreach program for intellectually disabled adults.

The Diocese of Brooklyn awarded her the St. Anne Medal in 1987 for her outstanding work with the Catholic Girl Scouts.

She volunteered at Immaculate Conception Parish on the Lower East Side from 1990 to 2000 before entering prayer ministry at the motherhouse in Philadelphia.

Burial was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery near Philadelphia, Pa.
