Born in Brooklyn, she attended Holy Innocents School in Flatbush, and Mercy Juniorate H.S., Fort Greene, before entering the novitiate in Syosset, L.I., in 1954. She professed her final vows on Sept. 5, 1959. 

She attended St. Francis College, Brooklyn Heights, and earned certification as a licensed dietitian from the New York Institute of Dietetics.

She taught in St. Gregory’s School, Crown Heights, 1956-58, and St. Brigid School, Bushwick, 1958-59. She served in child care at the Convent of Mercy, Fort Greene, 1959-61, and Angel Guardian Home, 1961-68. She served as a cook in the Convent of Mercy, 1968-70, and Catherine McAuley H.S., Flatbush, 1970-75.

She taught at the New York Institute of Dietetics, 1975-82, and served as dietitian at St. Mary’s Home and Our Lady of Mercy Academy, both Syosset, 1982-96.

She was the cook at St. Mary’s Rectory, Manhasset, L.I., 1998-2001, and served in food service in Half Hollows Hills Schools East in Half Hollow Hills, L.I.

She is survived by six brothers: James, Joseph, Donald, Michael, Kevin and Emmett, and two sisters: Mary Jane McGrath and Eileen Boncore.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Sisters of Mercy Convent, Whitestone. Burial was in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I.
