Sister Maria DeLourdes Santos, S.C., a Sister of Charity, Halifax for 71 years, died Feb. 25, at Mount St. Vincent, Wellesley Hills, Mass. She was 94.

Formerly Sister Joseph Catherine, she taught grades second, fourth, fifth and sixth grades at Resurrection- Ascension School, Rego Park, 1946-61, and taught at Bishop Reilly H.S., Fresh Meadows 1968-70.

She also served at Seton Hall H.S., Patchogue, N.Y., and in Massachusetts and British Columbia. She moved to Mount St. Vincent, Wellesley Hills, in 2011.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in the Mount St. Vincent Chapel, Wellesley Hills, Feb. 28.

Burial followed in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell, Mass.
