Sister Margaret Mary Caulson, I.H.M., (formerly known as Sister Mary Ronan) of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary died May 5 at Our Lady of Peace Residence, Scranton, Pa. She was 74.
Born in Dunmore, Pa., she entered the congregation in 1959, and made her final profession of vows in 1967.
She taught at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School, Forest Hills, 1964-69; St. Raymond School, East Rockaway, 1977-80; and St. Mary’s Elementary School, Manhasset, L.I., 1980-88.
She also served as live-in staff support at Samaritan House, Brooklyn, 1985-87; parish minister at St. Ann, Brentwood, L.I., 1989-91; pastoral counselor for religious education at Good Shepherd, Holbrook, L.I., 1991-99; night manager and live-in support at Rosa Parks Shelter in Roosevelt, L.I., 1990-2000; counselor residential and house parent at Boys Hope Girls Hope in Staten Island, 2000-02; pastoral care counselor at Hospice Care Network in Woodbury, L.I., 2002-07; and chaplain at Hospice Care Network, Woodbury, 2007-14.
From 2014 until the time of her death, she was a prayer minister at home in North Merrick, L.I., and at Our Lady of Peace Residence, Scranton.
She is survived by three brothers, Frank, Charles and James Caulson; and five sisters, Mary Agnes Kellerman of Orlando, Fla.; Sister Beatrice Caulson, I.H.M., of Gainesville, Fla.; Joan Pope of Saugherties, NY; Ann Marie Salva of Blakely, Pa; and Alice Caulson of Scranton.
Interment will be at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Moscow, Pa.
