Brother Robert Connolly, S.C., a native of Brooklyn, is marking his 65th year with the Brothers of the Sacred Heart. He pronounced first vows in 1950.

Born in Brooklyn, he attended St. Rose of Lima School, Parkville, and in 1945, he entered the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Juniorate in

Metuchen, N.J., pronouncing first vows in 1950. He also attended Springhill College, Alabama, and received masters’s degrees from Fordham University and Iona.

Besides teaching, he has held numerous administrative positions in the community. He has served as Postulant Master, Novice Master, Principal, President and Provincial.

In 1962, he was named to the faculty of Msgr. McClancy M.H.S., East Elmhurst, and served as principal there from 1964 to 1972.

He also served there as a teacher, coach, president and treasurer. He is currently assisting part-time at the school.
